I love flowers. Just love them. Roses, tulips, and oh, sunflowers I love so much, but most of all I love poppy flowers.

The reason I love poppy flowers is more than the obvious, that they’re beautiful.
I love them because a poppy flower can resist all kinds of weather, hot sun, dry ground, a stormy rain, wind and still it stands in it’s glory. But if you pick a poppy, the petals will fall off within minutes. If you take it from where it belongs, from where it’s supposed to be, you kill it for your own purpose and you won’t be able to enjoy it. If it’s ripped out of it’s ground, cut of it’s stem, it will lose it’s glory and all the reason you actually picked it in the first place. ‘Cause you wanted that beauty for your own good.

It’s the same as with people. Life can be hard at times, burning, stormy, total turmoil and you lose your balance, but somehow you manage to stand up pretty straight and in the end walk out on the other side and maybe even be grateful for the bad experience. You will be torned and scared, but this is your experiences that you own. The happiness that will be later, will also be yours to own. But if you try to remove a person from its own core, yes, that person can stand, but the spark, the life within disappears from him or her. The roots are gone if you try to shape a person for your own purpose, your own good. In the end the person you wanted to captivate in your own little nest will never be there, ’cause in the end it’s the spark in the eyes you want to see, the beauty of that persons love to it’s own life. But if you cut off the link between the core and the person, you won’t be able to look into those sparkling eyes, listening to the pure laughter, share those honest tears or have a passionate conversation that makes you lose track of time.

This is, what I think, the difference between owning and loving. The difference between picking the poppy or to enjoy it.

I love flowers. Just love them. Roses, tulips, and oh, sunflowers I love so much, but most of all I love poppy flowers.
